My Dad the jazz pianist writes 'Sea Shepherd Shanty'

Fathers Day 2009
Dad came over for coffee this am, he has been extremely irritable restless and discontented as of late. I get a lot of relief psychologically by literally cleaning his house.
CODAS no need for any commentary.
The only reason I am remotely sane today is due to EMDR. Another post entirely.
My Dad can no longer play the piano. He has Dupetrens disease, along with COPD, CHF, insulin dependent diabetes, etc.
He dreams in music though he said and he wakes up either I would call it heartbroken he calls it frustrated.
He watches a lot of Animal Planet and Discovery, Cash Cab and does NY Times crosswords. He reads voraciously, Nat Geo, Discovery magazine, Scientific American to name a few.
He recorded salsa and jazz albums in Puerto Rico and NY and we have hung out with the likes of Ellis Marsalis. He truly is a talent.
Anyway coffee and a TRIP today.

Well here is the Sea Shepherd Shanty

The Sea Shepherds Shanty

The whales are safe to swim the seas
The Japanese are learnin’
They owe their lives to the valiant crew
Of the worthy ship Steve Irwin

The Minke whales the Fin backs too
Are free to roam the ocean blue
They owe their lives to the valiant crew
Of the worthy ship Steve Irwin

Paul Watson and his volunteers
Ply Antarctic waters
Their mission is to intercept
The murderous marauders

The Minke whales the fin backs too
Are free to roam the ocean blue
They owe their lives to the valiant crew
Of the worthy ship Steve Irwin
